Make your princess feel she’s your princess with a princess bed

If you like to make a princess bed, this article will help you in giving the best and right princess bed for you little princess. From the larger piece of pine cut the side rails, foot board, slats plus strips to hold the slats. Cut four side rails 4 by 80 inches long. Cut the foot board 4 by 42 inches wide. Cut four slats 4 by 41 inches wide. Cut four strips of pine 4 by 80 inches that will fit under the side rails to support the slats. Secure the narrow strips to the side rails using L-shaped brackets. Secure the foot board to the side railings with nails plus L-shaped brackets, assembling the foot plus sides so they are 7 inches from the floor. Add the slats to hold the mattress. Paint the foot board plus side rails with pink acrylic paint.

Buy one sheet of pine 2 inches by 12 inches by 16 feet plus one sheet of pine 2 inches by 12 inches by 8 feet to build the bed. The average twin mattress is about 76 by 38 inches. Because mattresses vary, select the mattress first plus measure before you buy the lumber. From the smaller piece of pine, cut the headboard in four 12-by-42-inch sections. Attach those using straight brackets. This piece will be cut so the edges are rounded in Step 3. The headboard will be covered, so no division in the wood will be visible. Cut 2-by-2-by-12-inch legs to support the top of the headboard. Attach the legs to the headboard using brackets.

To make the pattern for the headboard as the illustration shows, fold an immense sheet of paper in half. Make it as tall as you need the headboard. Draw one side of the headboard by sketching four circles plus a straight line to the fringe of the paper. When you cut the paper plus open it, you'll have four symmetrical halves to form the headboard. Use the illustration as a pattern to cut a crown-shaped headboard with a jigsaw.

Cushion the headboard by covering it with foam or quilt batting held in place with glue. Cover the stuffing with a 45-inch piece of pink satin, tacking or stapling the fabric to the back of the headboard.

Decorate the satin crown headboard by hot-gluing large gemstones along the rounded top edge. Hot-glue a row of gold lace along the rounded top of the crown, cutting where required making it fit the circles. Hot-glue four strips of gold lace horizontally halfway down the headboard. When your tiny princess lays her head on her pillow, the gold lace will form the bottom of a crown that will fit her perfectly. Finally, hot-glue strips of gold braid criss-crossing downward diagonally from the gemstones to the lace edging.

Secure the headboard to the bed frame using L-shaped brackets. Detailing on the headboard will be added four times it's been attached to the remainder of the frame.
Cover your daughter's princess bed with a princess-themed bedspread plus sheets.
